Who wouldn’t like to have hair like a goddess? Hair is one of the most important things when it comes to beauty. It is of high importance in almost every woman’s life. It represents power and strength. Who isn’t happy on a good hair day?
I get a lot of compliments for my hair and I just wanted to share with you some of the tips and tricks which I use in my hair care routine. Obviously, I can’t mention everything in just one post, so stay tuned, I’m going to talk about the hair more here. Let’s begin.

Use products that are made for your hair type

Not every hair is the same and has the same needs, obviously. Your hair can be oily, dry, damaged, colored… Be sure to recognize what your hair type is and get the products that will work best for you.

Brush your hair twice a day

It doesn’t have to be always exactly twice, but it is very important to brush your hair in the morning and in the evening.  Also, it is recommended to brush it before washing. In that case, the drain won’t be clogged and everyone will be happy. The important advice I have to give you is: don’t brush your hair while it is still wet! That will damage your hair because hair is the most sensitive while it is wet. Also, use a detangle brush, like Macadamia No Tangle. I love that brush! It is so good for the hair. You can see it in the picture below. Also, when it comes to brushes, be sure to clean them regularly.

Cut your hair regularly

Everyone has a different opinion on how often we should cut our hair. Some people say that it should be done every 4-6 weeks and the other says that it should be every 2-3 months. I think that this is individual. As I said, not everyone’s hair has the same needs. You should observe your hair and see when it is time for the cut. When it comes to me, I cut it every 3-4 months. Sometimes it is more often, it depends on many factors.

Protect your hair from the Sun, wind…

Use hats, caps, scarves and everything else. Everyone is talking about protecting the skin from the Sun, but not many people think about protecting hair. It is exposed to the weather all the time, just think about that. Also, rain can be an enemy to the hair.

Tie your hair before sleep

This is important because it will prevent the hair from tangling. I would suggest the thing that I do. Before going to bed, I tie my hair into a loose ponytail. This way my hair isn’t bothering me while sleeping and also it won’t tangle. Bonus tip: use hair tool called Invisibobble. It is better than the regular scrunchie and looks like a phone wire. Prevents split ends and doesn’t twitch. For a few months now I’m using only them for tying my hair.

Hair wash – how often?

I wash my hair twice a week and that works the best for me. I know people who wash their hair on an everyday basis and my head starts hurting when I just think about that! It is unnecessary and you will get your hair dried a lot. Also, washing it rarely won’t be good for the hair either because of the impurities and sebum. My honest recommendation is washing it two to three times a week. Also, one trick that I use is using cold water at the last rinsing. It will help close your cuticles and seal the moisture in the hair. Also, hair will look shinier.

One more important thing is dry shampoo. If you wash your hair often, this could be the solution. I recommend Batiste dry shampoos. The function of this kind of products is to pick up the excess sebum and give the volume. You can delay your hair wash for a day. Just, don’t use it a lot, it will dry your hair out.

Massage your scalp

Massaging the scalp during applying shampoo will stimulate your blood flow and help your hair grow faster. Just be gentle and use your fingertips (not your nails). Also, once in a while massage your hair with an oil (olive oil, coconut oil) before washing it or before sleep (of course, wash your hair the next morning). This will nourish your hair. Avoid this if your hair is extremely greasy.

Mask and conditioner

I use both mask and conditioner every time I wash my hair. I think that gives the best results. Choose the products that are made for your hair type (as I said in the beginning). I can recommend you Keune mask with Argan oil. Also, Schwarzkopf Gliss Fiber Therapy mask is great.

Don’t rub your hair to dry it

As I said before, hair is the most sensitive when it is wet. Leave the towel on your hair for about ten minutes. It will absorb the excess of the water. This will also help you prevent split ends and the frizz effect.

Leave-in products

Except for the shampoo, conditioner, and mask, I use serums for split ends (Keune, in the picture below) or Macadamia oil treatment. Also, one of the most important steps is a spray that protects hair from the heat. It can be only for that purpose or it can have other as well. For example, for the last few months, I have been using L’oreal Elseve Arginine Resist X3 Express Conditioner. It protects my hair from the heat, helps detangling, strengthens my hair and also gives my hair an extra shine and anti-frizz effect.

Let the hair dry a little bit on itself

Give the hair time to dry a little before using a hairdryer. This will mean a lot for your hair’s health. It will be less dry. Also, minimize the usage of the hair dryer and hair straightener. They cause damages to your hair.

That is everything for today, I hope I’ve helped you. Tell me, what is your favorite product for hair?
