Vichy Aqualia Thermal: Day Cream, Night Spa & Serum

Vichy Aqualia Thermal

Hydration is number one priority when it comes to skin care. It is the most important thing for healthy, naturally glowing skin. Skin can be hydrated by drinking water, eating food with a high percentage of water and, of course, by using the right products (serums, creams, masks, etc). For few months I have been using some great products for hydration and today I will share my thoughts on them.

Every skin type needs hydration. Don’t think that your skin doesn’t need it just because it is greasy. For example, one person can have greasy and dehydrated skin at the same time, so don’t get confused. Dehydrated and dry skin are not the same. Of course, there are different types of hydrating products for every skin type.

Now that those things are clear, I will tell you something more about Vichy‘s line for hydration: Aqualia Thermal. When it comes to the products I’ve been using, those are: day cream, night spa (night cream) and serum.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal

Vichy says: Powerful 48-hour hydration in a lightweight serum suitable for all skin types, including combination. Ultra-light texture softens and deeply comforts skin all day, without stickiness or oiliness. The reinvented Power Serum evenly distributes water to balance dry skin, target dry patches, and plump dehydration lines. Skin appears more luminous over time, giving the complexion a healthy glow. Ultra-refreshing, lightweight serum absorbs instantly into the skin, leaving a velvety soft finish. Oil-free. Non-comedogenic. Non-acnegenic. Allergy-tested. Suitable for sensitive skin. Tested under dermatological control.

How to use it? Apply a pump or two of serum in the morning and/or in the evening. It can be used on its own or before moisturizer. It is recommended for persons who are between 20 and 60 years old.

My impressions: I’ll start with the packaging. It is very simple, but beautiful. The serum comes in a bottle made of glass and contains 30 ml of product. On the top of the packaging is a pump, which helps you doze the amount of product and, on the other hand, is very hygienical. The texture of the serum is watery and it absorbs very quickly into the skin. The smell is very good, fresh. After this serum, my skin looks and feels fresh, smooth and hydrated. It makes dehydration lines disappear. As Vichy says, it isn’t greasy, nor sticky. Some of the good ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid and Vichy Thermal Spa water. Also, it is free of parabens. All the ingredients and some more details about this product you can look on Vichy’s site. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this product and I will keep on using it. I am now on the second bottle.

Vichy says: Sensitive skin needs optimal hydration for its natural repair process and barrier function to function properly. Enriched with Vichy Thermal Spa Water and Hyaluronic Acid, Aqualia Thermal Light provides continuous hydration, for up to 48 hours intense comfort and protection against daily aggressions. Light in texture for normal to combination skin, it helps to reinforce the skin’s natural moisture barrier, leaving you with healthy, soft-feeling and more beautiful looking skin. Tested on sensitive skin under dermatological control. Hypoallergenic. No parabens.

How to use it? Apply morning and/or evening to cleansed skin. Gently smooth small quantities of cream over your entire face.

My impressions: Aqualia Thermal Day Cream comes in two variants. One is Light (for normal and combination skin) and the other is Rich (for dry and extremely dry skin). I have the Light one. This cream comes in beautiful glass packaging in light blue with a mirrored cap. It has 50 ml of product. It is very lightweight and it isn’t sticky or greasy. It has the same smell as the serum (nice and fresh) and it is white. The cream absorbs very fast into the skin. Very small amount is enough for the whole face. It leaves skin very soft and nourished. Skin feels very hydrated and has a natural glow. I think that this cream can be good also for greasy skin because it is very light and has no oils in it. The only flaw I find this cream has is the absence of SPF (Sun Protection Factor). I like when my day cream has SPF because in that case, I don’t have to apply more products if I’m going out.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Day Cream, normal skin

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Day Cream

Vichy says: Inspired by the Vichy Thermal Spa, this ultra-comfortable, velvety sleep mask infuses the skin with hydration overnight, when skin is most receptive to treatments. Skin is soft, soothed and supple by morning. Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and Aquabioryl™ known to replenish the skin with hydration and form a protective film. Contains conditioning oils for intense overnight hydration. With exclusive fortifying and soothing Vichy Thermal Spa Water. Paraben-free. Ultra-comfortable cream-gel texture leaves skin velvety soft upon application. The formula is non-sticky, non-greasy, and easily absorbed into the skin, making it ideal for overnight wear. Allergy-tested. Suitable for sensitive skin. Tested under dermatological control.

How to use it? As a night cream, apply in the evening to cleansed skin. Also can be used as a mask: apply a thick layer to face and neck and massage into skin with an upward smoothing motion. Close your eyes, and let this fresh aqua-gel infuse the skin for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat 1-3 times per week.

My impressions: Aqualia Thermal Night Spa comes in packaging similar to one that has day cream. It is made of glass and has a mirrored cap. But, the amount of product is bigger, so you get 75 ml of product. Packaging is dark blue and the cream is light blue. It has a different smell than the serum and the day cream, but it is also nice. In spite of the fact that this is a night cream, it is (like the serum and the day cream) very lightweight. This cream, or spa (how they call it) doesn’t leave an oily trace and isn’t heavy at all. This product is gel-like and can be used as a night cream, but also as a mask. It absorbs quickly (not as fast as the serum and the day cream, but pretty fast for this type of product). Aqualia Thermal Night Spa gives you cooling effect and is very refreshing. In the morning skin is so soft and gentle that you want to touch it all day long. Also, skin looks healthier and more radiant. Used as a mask, this product will boost your skin and make it beautiful. I like using it for this purpose. Of all the products I’m writing about in this post, this is my absolute favorite!

Overall, I think that these products are great and they are worth the money you spend on them. If i had to choose just one of these three products, I would choose the Aqualia Thermal Night Spa. As I said, it is my favorite. The serum and the day cream are also great, they do their job very well. After these products, skin is soft, nourished, hydrated and healthier. It is as smooth as a baby’s skin. 🙂
